APPLICATION
The PD 3150 Digital I/O Module is one
of a collection of distributed process control units, intended for use within
the P-NET local area network. It provides a versatile interface between valves,
switches, pulses, lamps, alarms, motors, level detectors, etc., and a central
control computer. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The PD 3150 Digital I/O Module is provided with 32 input/output channels for 24 VDC and a communication port for the P-NET Fieldbus. The module has 32 channels, of which 16 sinks and the remaining 16 channels sources the output current. This makes the module suitable for matrix applications.
The unit offers comprehensive self testing features, which enables reporting of disconnection, overload and process failure. All inputs and outputs are protected against overload. The selectable watch dog timer ensures the safe shutdown of a process during a communications or power failure.
The output current is measured continuously on each of the 16 sinking channels and can be read as a value in Amps. If the current exceeds the specified max value, the output is switched off and an error code (overload) is generated in the module.

PD 3150 is approved in compliance with the EMC-directive no 89/336/EEC. Test limits are determined by the generic standards EN 50081-2 for emission and EN 50082-2 for immunity.
